Summer time at Crowe's Nest is a great opportunity to introduce kids to the appreciation, knowledge, and wise stewardship of both agriculture and Texas wildlife in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The Farm School of Life Science at Crowe's Nest Farm embraces the goal of teaching every child and adult who visit our facilities to respect every living thing. During summer day camp we want to provide an environment where science is not considered work, but pleasure. Children will be doing science, not reading about it in a textbook. Although this experience is not possible in a regular classroom setting, it is at the farm, with over 100 acres to roam and explore!
It is our wish to instill a conservation ethic among children by connecting them with the land and all its inhabitants. This will be accomplished by providing in-depth, hands-on activities in life science studies including: botany, animal husbandry, ornithology, herpetology, entomology,
ichthyology, bats and gardening.
