Crowe's Nest Farmers Market

So...you are all signed up and ready for your Crowe's Nest Farm tour...but
what will you do once you arrive? This virtual tour of the farm will give you
the lowdown on most everything you will see and do.
(Be sure to mouse over the pictures as some link to larger-sized ones)

After unloading from the bus or your vehicles, if you are the 10:00 tour,
you will check in at the admissions booth (not the red portable building
but next to it). Teachers, please have your check from your school with you. Parents, you can pay for yourselves and any children that accompany you that are not part of the attending school. 11:30 tour: you'll eat lunch in the picnic area before touring. Check in at the admission booth afterwards.

Once you are all checked in, you may be split into smaller groups if your group totals more than 80 people. Some will go to the big red barn, others to the dairy barn, and, if necessary, a third group to the hayride. You will then rotate groups until everyone has done all three. After those guided parts of the tour are complete for all groups, you may then tour the rest of the farm, which is self-guided, breaking up into smaller groups if you like. 10:00 groups: you eat lunch after your tour is complete. Feel free to contact us for more specific information. What follows are pictures and short descriptions of many of the attractions you can visit on our farm...
As you enter, note the antique, restored fall wagon, complete w/ straw family and farm decor.
When you enter the big red barn (see picture above), there's a video to see as well as lots of animals and displays.
Farmer Joyce does the video presenta-
tion and sells snacks & coffee, too!
Farmer Dave does the dairy presentation, and if Blossom has plenty of milk.... you might just get to milk a cow, too! (depending on time, size of group, etc)
On the way to the dairy and hayride, you'll pass by our gift shop.
Don't forget to stop in before you go! (peacock welcome optional)
Farmer Eric will be driving the tractor so be sure to catch a hayride sometime during your tour.
Other attractions include the pig pen...

...goat pen...

...raptor aviaries...

...bobcat pen...

...chicken houses...

...sheep pen...

...pheasant aviary...

...javelina pen...

...duck and geese pond...

...lama & emu pen...

...doves, quail, & pigeons aviary...

...and many herb and flower gardens...

The children's gardens are particularly beautiful ...

Humpty Dumpty is about to take a fall!

...and educational, too! (Repunzel lets down her hair.)

Don't get too close to the cactus garden...ouch!

Butterflies occupy the Butterfly House on a seasonal basis but w/ the waterfall and pond, it's always a tranquil place to visit.
The Memorial Garden is dedicated to our Old Friends and is particularly scenic in the spring w/ all the wildflowers.
Faeriewood is a favorite destination of kids and adults alike. Click here for more pictures of Faeriewood.
If you are part of a 10:00 tour and are planning to eat lunch at the farm, you may do so after the tour in our covered pavillion (see picture to the right) or any of the picnic tables outside of it (just in case you'd rather commune w/ nature a little more closely). The 11:30 tour groups eat lunch there first - then tour (no need to check in at the admission booth until you are ready to take your tour).

Well, that completes your online tour of the farm...hope you enjoyed it! Now it's time to set an appointment to come see it in person! We look forward to your arrival and to showing you a wonderful time!
