Crowe’s Nest Farm is a working farm and animal rescue sanctuary and is open to the public. We are located 8 miles east of Austin near Manor, Texas.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The farm is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

No reservations are necessary for individuals and families.

ADMISSION (Non-special & Festival Events)

As a nonprofit organization, the farm relies on ticket sales, memberships and donations to operate. Admission fees:

Youth 3-12 yrs. $8 Adults 13+ $9

Children 2 yrs. $5 Seniors 60+ $8

Tots 0-24 mo. Free

Tours.

Tours for school classes and groups of 10+ people are available by reservation. Join us for a 90-minute tour with learning exhibits and demonstrations (approx 45 mins). Explore the rest of the farm on your own approx 45 mins).

 

Virtual Tours

Tour 1- Learn about Texas reptiles, barnyard nursery & farm animals, 35 min.

Tour 2 -Texas Wildlife, learn about coatimundis, ringtails, giant tortoises, bobcats, owls & more -33 min.

Tour 3 - Dairy production - see a milking demonstration, bison and a male ostrich -16 min.

Private events.

Crowe's Nest Farm is available for private events such as birthday parties, church or company get togethers, family reunions, and other private events.

Our birthday party package includes the standard tour (see "Group Tours" section), plus a hands-on snake and reptile lesson, a free Crowe's Nest Farm T-shirt for the birthday kiddo, and the pavilion reserved just for your party.

Booking fee for a three-hour private event is $275. which includes up to 30 guests. Additional guests are $9 each.

What’s at Crowe’s Nest Farm

Our Farm includes educational exhibits geared for youth and their families.

  • The Big Red Barn is home to our reptiles and amphibians and includes other educational exhibits.

  • Our Tiny Farm is home to our miniature ponies, chickens, goats, pigs and hooved youngsters requiring extra human care.

  • The Dairy Barn is equipped with a working milking machine for live demonstrations

  • Walking path leads visitors to all of our domestic livestock and wildlife areas, gardens and enclosures.

  • Free guided Hayrides take visitors to our outer pastures to see the Bison.

  • Children’s-story and fairytale-themed flower, vegetable, and herb gardens cover the grounds of the main farm visitor area

  • The Birdwood trail’ invites visitors to walk and enjoy nature and a trickling stream and gardens along the way.

Tours

School groups and groups of 15+ are invited to book a tour to visit. Join our tour guides for a learning adventure, then explore the farm at your own pace. Tours are 45-60 minutes and begin at the Big Red Barn with orientation and learning exhibits. This is followed by a trip to the Dairy Barn for a lesson on dairy and a milking demonstration followed by a hayride to see the Bison.

  • Weekdays: Group Tours of 15 or more are by appointment only and may be scheduled for Monday-Friday at 10:00 or 11:30 a.m. from October 1 through December 15, and March 1 through July 31. 9a.m. tours are available upon re

  • Weekends: Saturday tours for groups of 20 or more are available with special arrangement. They start at 10a.m. 

  • Individual, family or group less than 10? No problem, you are always invited to join us Tuesdays - Saturdays from 10am-2pm, no reservations are needed.

Free Hayrides

Our Hayrides are free and available to all visitors. Venture out and see the American Bison herd in their pastures with your hayride guide. Hayrides run between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Self-Guided Tours

Take your time wandering our trails and checking out all of our animals, gardens, and exhibits.

Picnicking

Guests are welcome to bring bag lunches and dine in our picnic areas. A limited selection of drinks and snacks are available for purchase at The Big Red Barn.

Big Red Barn Gift Shop

The Big Red Barn includes a gift shop with educational books and toys. Refreshments and a selection of snacks are available for purchase as well. Seasonal organic veggies, eggs and local honey may also be available.

Plenty of parking is available on-site for visitors including school buses.
